Reflection
.) My paintings were neat this time and I liked that a lot. They turned out how I wanted them to be because I had an idea and could make it happen with the time we were given. The strongest part about my violet painting was the fading in my colors.
.) I need to put a boarder on my yellow painting.
.) The theme of my painting is life and I represented it by how you explore yourself and that life can be dark but it always gets better. They theme of my yellow painting is bright and happy, it shows that by the bright background and the bright flower.
.) The major hue in my painting is violet because it shows happiness when it's bright but depression and hard times when it's dark.. The other painting is yellow, because it's always happy and bright. I could also make green from it, which was sweet.
.) I used canvas on my violet picture and used my fingers because it seemed like the best place to make the design work. The pain was hard to apply without a brush but I could make it look exactly how I wanted to by using my fingers. The yellow one is on cardboard because I wanted it to look super natural and different, I also used some sticks for the stem to make it pop. It was easy to apply the paint but messing because I used my hands.
.) I learned that I like to be creative and use the first idea that pops into my mind and bring it to life. It was really cool that i could make the green from yellow black and white. That was sweet.
.) I had everything decided first on my violet painting because of my preliminary drawing, I painted the gesso first then I had to decide on a color and I just started with my fingers because I hated the pallet knifes, it didn't go on as thick as I wanted it to so I used my fingers. For my yellow painting I painted the background first with my hands then applied the stem and painted the rest on with my hands.
.) Yes, I thought it gave me a chance to be creative and explore what you can do with tints and shades. I like being able to chose what to paint on. It was a good ole' time Mr. Purdy.
